    Practical Information for Travelers

Now that we’ve explored the customization and flexibility options for your Bhutan 6 Nights 7 Days Package, let’s delve into some practical information that every traveler should know before embarking on this enchanting journey.

Excluded Costs: Airfare, Some Meals, and Personal Expenses

While the package covers many aspects of your trip, it’s important to be aware of certain costs that are not included:

    • Airfare: International flights to and from Paro International Airport are not part of the package.
    • Some meals: While many meals are included, certain dining experiences may be at your own expense.
    • Personal expenses: Items such as souvenirs, tips, and additional activities are not covered.

It’s advisable to budget for these extra costs to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip. Remember to bring cash, as ATMs can be scarce in Bhutan.

Booking Options: Fixed Departure Dates vs. Customized Tours

When planning your Bhutan adventure, you have two main booking options:

    1. Fixed departure dates: These are pre-scheduled tours with set itineraries.
    2. Customized tours: Tailored experiences designed to meet your specific interests and schedule.

    Booking Option

    Advantages

    Considerations

Additional Fees: GST and TCS Charges

When budgeting for your Bhutan trip, be aware of additional fees that may apply:

    • GST (Goods and Services Tax): This tax may be applied to certain services within the package.
    • TCS (Tax Collected at Source): For Indian travelers, this additional charge may be applicable.

These fees are typically not included in the base package price and should be factored into your overall budget. It’s recommended to discuss these charges with your tour operator, such as Mercury Tour Operator, to get a clear understanding of the total cost.

    Recommended Travel Insurance

Given Bhutan’s mountainous terrain and limited medical facilities, comprehensive travel insurance is highly recommended. Here are key aspects to consider:

    • Medical coverage: Ensure your policy includes emergency medical treatment and evacuation.
    • Trip cancellation: Protection against unforeseen circumstances that may force you to cancel or cut short your trip.
    • Lost luggage: Coverage for lost or delayed baggage.
    • Adventure activities: If you plan on trekking or other adventure sports, make sure these are included in your policy.

When selecting travel insurance, consider the following:

    1. Check the policy’s altitude coverage, as many areas in Bhutan are at high elevations.
    2. Ensure the policy covers the entire duration of your stay.
    3. Verify that the coverage limits are adequate for potential medical expenses in Bhutan.
    4. Read the fine print regarding exclusions and pre-existing conditions.

Remember, while travel insurance is an additional expense, it provides peace of mind and financial protection during your journey through the Kingdom of Bhutan.
