We went on a tour with Mercury Tours during Durga Pujo this year (2023). We went on their Gram Banglar Durga Pujo and the Visarjan Cruise. We had a good time. Everything was well organised and the tour organisers were polite and professional. Except for the four of us, everyone else on the trip were locals/ Bengalis and we were the only ones from a different state and the only vegetarians on board. It was a bit of a challenge for us, but the tour operators did their best to make us as comfortable as possible. Also, the bus in which we travelled could have been more comfortable. It was old bus and in places the water bottle holder was broken or the AC vent was broken etc. This wasn’t a major concern though and was manageable. It would have also been a little more convenient if the trip end were mentioned in the itinerary, especially for the Gram pujo. As tourists, we had no idea of the distances and the traffic in Kolkata during Durga Pujo. So we were under the assumption that the trip would be over by 5:30 – 6:00pm. But by the time we reached our hotel, it was past 10:30. An idea would have been helpful. Everything else was well organised and I enjoyed myself very much. Thank you for the memorable experience 🙏
