Tour Itinerary (February 2025

 Day 1 : Departure from Howrah

Board the train from Howrah to Chennai for your exciting journey.

 

Day 2 : Arrival at Chennai

Reach Chennai at 7:00 pm. Our representative will transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

Relax and unwind for the evening. You can explore nearby attractions or enjoy the comfort of the hotel. Stay at the hotel in Chennai.

 

Day 3 : Chennai to Pondicherry.

Depart early morning and transfer to Chennai station for your train to Pondicherry. The journey takes approximately 4 hours.  Arrive in Pondicherry, and check in to your hotel.

Visit key attractions in Pondicherry, such as Sri Aurobindo Ashram,  A peaceful retreat for meditation and spiritual reflection.  Enjoy a walk along the beautiful beach.

Explore the charming French colonial architecture and vibrant streets. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

 

Day 4 : Full Day Sightseeing in Pondicherry

Visit Auro ville, this internationally renowned township dedicated to human unity, known for its unique architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Visit Chunnambar Boat House and enjoy a boat ride and explore the natural beauty of the backwaters. Visit Pondicherry Museum, Discover the history and culture of Pondicherry through its exhibit. Explore the local markets for souvenirs, including handmade crafts and clothing. Return to the hotel for a restful night.

 

Day 5 : Pondicherry to Madurai

After breakfast, travel to Madurai, the historic city known for its ancient temples.  Arrival at Madurai and Check in to your hotel upon arrival.  Visit the Meenakshi Amman Temple, one of the largest and most important temples in South India, known for its intricate architecture and vibrant history. Relax and stay overnight at the hotel in Madurai.

 

Day 6 : Madurai Local Sightseeing & Transfer to Rameswaram

In the Morning visit  Sightseeing in Madurai:

Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace:A majestic palace known for its Indo-Saracenic architecture.

Gandhi Memorial Museum: Learn about the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi.

After sightseeing, depart for Rameswaram, a spiritual destination. Check in to your hotel.  In the evening visit Ramanathaswamy Temple and experience its historic and religious significance. Rest at your hotel in Rameswaram.

 

Day 7 : Rameswaram to Kanyakumari

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your journey to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India. Enjoy the scenic beauty and visit notable stops along the way.

Reach Kanyakumari in the evening, and check into your hotel. Rest at your hotel in Kanyakumari.

 

Day 8 : Kanyakumari Sightseeing and Transfer to Trivandrum

Explore the key attractions in Kanyakumari. Vivekananda Rock MA serene island memorial dedicated to Swami Vivekananda, accessible by boat.  Visit A massive statue of the Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar.

Visit Kanyakumari Temple, this sacred temple dedicated to the goddess Kanya Kumari, believed to be an incarnation of Parvati.

After sightseeing, proceed to Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram).  Check into your hotel in Trivandrum and rest for the night.

 

Day 9 : Trivandrum Half-Day Sightseeing and Train Departure**

In the morning visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple: The iconic temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Visit Shankumugham Beach. Enjoy a relaxing time at the beach. In the Afternoon, board the train from Trivandrum for your return journey.

 

Day 10 : On Train

Continue your journey by train, enjoying the scenic views along the way.

 

Day 11 : Arrival at Shalimar Station

The tour concludes as you arrive at Shalimar Station at around 2:25 pm, marking the end of your memorable South India tour.

Program Changes: The itinerary is subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances.

Seat Allocation: Seats on the bus will be allocated on a rotational basis; no special seat requests can be accommodated.

Road Travel: Overland journeys will be conducted in a 2×1 seat Tempo Traveller vehicle.

Railway Journey: Meals, tea, and water will not be provided during train journeys.

Hotel Accommodation: Travelers may not all be accommodated in the same hotel. Some guests may stay in nearby hotels of a similar standard.

No Smoking/Plastic-Free Zone: Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas, and all locations are plastic-free zones.

Hotel Room Arrangements: Triple-bed rooms are not available; additional floor mattresses will be provided for extra guests if necessary.

Luggage: Please bring minimal luggage. Avoid carrying unnecessary items and ensure suitcases do not exceed 22 inches in length.

Identification: A valid ID card must be presented at all required locations.

Liability: The company is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings during the journey and will not offer compensation for lost items.

Cooperation: Travelers are requested to cooperate with the tour manager and staff throughout the trip.

Personal Luggage Responsibility: During train journeys, travelers should take extra care of their luggage.
