En route, admire the spectacular views of the never ending snow-capped mountain ranges around Khardungla Pass (18,390 feet) after spending some time at Khardungla, proceed to Nubra. Zanskar Valley
Zanskar Valley is located on the eastern corner of Jammu and Kashmir and separates from Ladakh by the Zanskar mountain range which is a part of the Himalayas. Tso Moriri Lake

The crystal clear water of the lake symbolizes its twin Pangong Lake and the lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains which makes this place a complete paradise for the tourist. There are many faunae available like the Brahman duck, the brown-headed gull, and the Himalayan hares are found here. This lake is also one of the highest lakes in India.
Chadar Trek
The Chadar trek in Leh which is also known as the frozen river Trek is a very famous trek if you visit Ladakh. This 6 day Trek goes over the Zanskar river. This track occurs from January to late March depending on the weather. This trek is also very challenging to complete.

Alchi is one of the villages in Ladakh which has the famous Alchi monastery. The Thiksey Gompa is one of Ladakh’s biggest and most recognized monastery. Diskit Monastery
The Diskit Monastery is the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra valley and it belongs to the Tibetan Buddhist. This monastery was founded by Changzeb Tserab Zaongpo. This monastery is also accompanied by a school that is helped by NGO, this school also teaches students science in the English language. River Shyok also flows at the foothills of the monastery.
Stakna Monastery
The Stakna monastery is situated on the bank of river Indus. The hill on which this monastery was built resembles that of a tiger-nose from where this monastery gets its name. From the top of the monastery, you can get a beautiful panoramic view of the Hemis.
Phyang Gompa
The Phyang Monastery is situated on the phyang hill which is the home to over 100 Buddhist monks. This gompa who was once the center of Digung teachings. Now here festivals are celebrated like the Gangsngon Tsedup Festival. You must visit this festival.
Likir Monastery
The Likir Monastery is near the Saspol village which is on the banks of river Indus. This monastery beholds Buddha statue which is 75 feet tall and is made of gold. The original structure of the monastery was destroyed by fire in the 11th century and it was rebuilt in the 18 century.
Phugtal Monastery
The Phugtal Monastery is located in the South-Eastern part of the Zanskar region in Ladakh. This 2250 years old monastery was once the school of the Buddhist where teaching, learning, and enjoyment was the main purpose. From distance, this monastery looks like a honeycomb from where it gets its name. You have to take to reach this monastery.
