Enjoy a relaxed and immersive wildlife holiday in the enchanting Sundarbans. This 3-night tour is perfect for families and small groups who want to spend more time in nature, explore deep forest creeks, and experience the culture and life of the delta.
Day 1: Kolkata to Sundarbans
Your journey begins with a comfortable pickup from Kolkata and a scenic drive to Godkhali, the gateway to the Sundarbans. After boarding the boat and crossing Gosaba Island, you reach your resort, set beautifully opposite the Sundarban Tiger Reserve. The calm surroundings of rivers, bridges and greenery create the perfect escape from city life.
After lunch, enjoy a peaceful country boat ride through the bird-rich mangrove creeks, ending with a beautiful sunset on the river. In the evening, unwind with a traditional folk dance show and delicious snacks before enjoying dinner and a restful night at the resort.
Day 2: Full-Day Jungle Safari
The second day is dedicated entirely to exploring the Sundarban forest by houseboat. After securing forest permissions, you enter the dense mangrove area and cruise through narrow creeks and wide rivers. Throughout the day, you explore major watchtowers like Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali, and Dobanki, where the long canopy walk offers a thrilling chance to observe wildlife safely from above.
As the boat moves through creeks such as Pir-Khali, Banabibi Varani and Chora-Gazi Khal, keep your eyes open for spotted deer, wild boars, crocodiles, monitor lizards, different bird species, dolphins, and—if luck permits—the iconic Royal Bengal Tiger. Freshly cooked food is served on board, and by evening you return to the resort for dinner and relaxation.
Day 3: Burir Dabri
This day takes you deeper into the core forest area with two route options depending on your interest.
Burir Dabri Route:
A long and scenic journey that leads to one of the farthest watchtowers in the Indian Sundarbans, right along the Bangladesh border. The mudwalk, canopy trail, and panoramic view of the Raimangal River make this route special. From the tower you can see both the Indian and Bangladesh Sundarbans. The journey passes through Morichjapi and Jhila forest beats, known for wildlife sightings.
Day 4: Village Experience and Return to Kolkata
The final morning begins with a village walk where you meet locals who live alongside the forest. Listening to their stories of collecting honey, catching fish and dealing with tiger-prone territories offers a rare insight into the daily life of the delta. The greenery, calmness and lifestyle here leave a lasting impression.
After lunch and checkout, visit the historic Rabindranath Tagore Bungalow and Sir Daniel Hamilton Bungalow. Then travel back to Godkhali to begin your return journey to Kolkata, completing your four-day Sundarban adventure with unforgettable memories.
